New Excursion: The Crocodile Park and La Vallée du Paradis

Departure from the hotel at 8.30 / 9.00a.m and back around 5.30p.m.

Departure from the hotel at  8.30a.m to the Crocodile Park where alligators imported from Madagascar and bred in captivity. Other species from the Mascareignes Islands are also found there. Follow our guide through the wildness, marvel at the beauty of our tropical forest where you will encounter monkeys, bats, stags, giant tortoises, lizards and other animals from the region. La Vallée du Paradis is not far from the park and picturesque village of Rivière des Anguilles. It is nested in the heart of the enchanting Domaine of Bel Air, a sugar estate owned by an Irish/French/Mauritian family. This small valley has been compared to the world famous Vallée de Mai in the Seychelles as well as to the ferns valley in Jamaice. A small train will take you for a guided visit along a stream banks enhanced with dykes which create the natural habitat for ducks, geese and fish. The small natural waterfalls will fill you with wonder and on your way, get to know more about our trees especially the coqueluche, raphia, bananier and ravinale. Enjoy the company of ostriches which seem to outrun the train and afterwards have a stop-over at a huge cage where lives a whole family of lemurs from Madagascar. Further away, are ducks from Manilla along with their natural offsprings as well as those from crossbreeding with the "cols verts". A special creol lunch will be served at the chalet.
