Port-Louis - The capital city Port Louis is the busiest city of the country. It faces heavy traffic congestion as there is only one motorway which leads in and out of the city. The busiest hours are 8am and 5pm, which roughly correspond to the working hours for the majority of enterprises. Port-Louis is unrecognizably quiet after business hours and on week-ends, except when the Champs-de-Mars hosts the very popular horse races.
Curepipe - Floreal The heart of shopping, with textile industries and diamond processing. Between Curepipe and Floreal, there is the Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano about 200 m wide.
Grand - Baie Grand Baie owes its popularity to the enchanting quality of its emerald waters and to its liveliness by day or by night. It offers facilities for safe swimming, sailing, windsurfing, and water skiing. Grand Baie also hosts a variety of fashion and craft shops, hotels, restaurants, and night-clubs. It is the departure point for helicopter excursions, and it provides facilities for deep sea angling and for boat excursions also.
