Discover Central Mauritius

The central plateau of the island is split between the Plaines Wilhems and the Moka district. The towns on the plateau are predominantly residential with few sites of interest.

Plaines Wilhems:
Quatre-Bornes
It is the most pleasant among the towns. There are some nice places to stay and eat and the atmosphere of the town is generally more upbeat.

Rose-Hill
This pleasant town sits at the foot of the impressive Corps de Garde mountain. It is one of the cheapest places to shop on the island and it's worth a day trip for its relaxed atmosphere

The countryside around Le Réduit estate is marvellous, particularly at the driveway entrance, if you look down from the roadside into the deep Rivière Cascade valley
